Justice Walks Uphill Slowly Alone by Stephen T. Jones
This morning I was talking to my Mentor and Friend Patrick at Starbucks when he stopped and wrote these words on a piece of paper.
Justice
Walks
Uphill
Slowly
Alone
Then he engaged a conversation by asking me what do you think of this statement. After a short conversation this really got me thinking and feeling which lead me to writing this sub-chapter.
Justice- I believe that most people in society would look at Justice as a set of standards, laws or morals agreed upon by the status quo of society. Although I agree with this definition I also see Justice as peace and progress.
Uphill Slowly- The best time management is avoiding things and stuff that has no value that doesn’t feed our souls. This is why it is so important to follow our hearts…we may not have a choice to whether to suffer or not suffer but we do have the choice to make the suffering worth it. Sometimes great leaders suffer so much they feel entitled for the burden that most leaders endure. Sad thing is that most leaders in our society don’t notice that this entitlement causes more problems than solutions.
Walks Alone- There are few if any self made men or women…Even Gandhi had to have people that oppressed him and his people to inspire him to create change. This is why I believe now is a time for people from all walks of life to be good leaders who inspire a great collective progress. Lao Tzu Put it best when he said “A leader is best when people barely know he exists, when his work is done, his aim fulfilled, they will say: we did it ourselves.”
In your own way, think and feel about what good you want to see in the world…And how you can attract all the right people and resources to support your cause. Now PAUSE and BREATH and CHALLENGE yourself to find the next step of the mission?
